The announcement comes as both players become eligible under the Hall’s updated criteria, which now considers candidates two seasons post-retirement.

Anthony, a prolific scorer over his 19-year NBA tenure, amassed 28,289 points, ranking 12th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. In his career, he averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Anthony’s offensive prowess was evident during his stints with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, where he consistently demonstrated his scoring ability.

Howard, an 18-year NBA veteran, was a dominant force in the paint, securing 11.8 rebounds and contributing 15.7 points per game throughout his career. Known for his defensive tenacity and shot-blocking skills, Howard’s presence was pivotal in anchoring defenses and controlling the boards.

The Class of 2025 finalists also feature notable figures such as Sue Bird, Maya Moore, and Amar’e Stoudemire, reflecting a diverse array of talent across basketball’s global landscape. The Hall of Fame’s decision to reduce the waiting period for eligibility aims to honor players’ contributions while their achievements remain prominent in public consciousness.

Final selections for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be announced during the men’s NCAA Final Four in April, with the induction ceremony slated for later in the year. This class is poised to celebrate individuals who have made significant impacts on the sport, both on and off the court.
