Cavs Talk: Schedule, Needs, Isaac Okoro, Ty Jerome, More

Well, the Cavaliers seem to be set for training camp. Not entirely, but close. They are definitely set for the NBA regular season when you’re talking about the schedule — which was released Thursday and I broke down here.

I also broke it down on the latest Hoops Wire Live show on 330 to Go. You can check it here or directly below.

When it comes to the schedule, I rarely get too excited. You gotta play everyone at least twice, and how when you do it isn’t really all that big of a deal. Just win, baby. Or something like that.

I do think it’s cool that the Cavaliers face ex-coach J.B. Bickerstaff and the Detroit Pistons in the home opener. Trust me, that’s by design.

It’s also interesting to me that LeBron James returns on Oct. 30, just five games into the season for the Cavs. Then, later, the Cavs will face James and the Los Angeles Lakers again, in the first game after James’ 40th birthday (Dec. 31, or New Year’s Eve, in LA).

Other than that, not a whole lot moves me about the 2024-25 schedule.

As for the Cavs and their needs, well, they have to start by figuring out what’s next involving Isaac Okoro. I cover that — and a few other roster needs, concerns, etc. — in the show. And yes, I even throw out some names who I would like to see the Cavs consider.

So, it may be almost football season, but that hardly keeps me from talkin’ hoops. Thanks, as always, for following along.
