Hoops Wire Live: Cavs’ Latest Remarkable Stretch Looks A Lot Like The First One

What’s cookin’ right now? Yep, your Cleveland Cavaliers, that’s what. Still. They’re now on 12-game winning streak, after starting the year on a 15-game winning streak.Darius Garland, Cavaliers, Cavs. Raptors, NBA

Overall, they’re 33-4, best in the NBA. They’re also 16-1 since the start of December. If there’s a game, there’s a darn good chance the Cavaliers are winning it. I discuss the season to date and what’s ahead on the latest Hoops Wire Live from 330 To Go. Watch it here or directly below.

As we relayed earlier and I do in the show, the Cavs-Thunder matchup drew a large TV audience. I’ve said for some time that market size doesn’t matter, not in today’s world of social media and multiple ways to get your message/event out there.

It may have mattered in 1987, but it sure doesn’t today. If you win, they will find you. And people are finding these Cavaliers.

Of course, this is the NBA, so there’s always another game. The Cavs had one the very next night and looked worse-than-just-OK, but hey, they still beat the Toronto Raptors. Darius Garland was amazing on his way to 40 points.

Coach Kenny Atkinson said it was the first game all year in which he felt that just “one guy carried us.” Without question, Garland did that in the scoring department. But there were multiple big plays from a lot of guys, as I talked about on the show.

That’s just been the Cavs M.O. It’s how you go 33-4. You need contributions from everyone, everywhere. Maybe not at all times, but certainly when it’s winning time. That’s these Cavs and they are giving their fans a reason to be proud.
