The Cavaliers have agreed to a contract G League small forward Tre Scott to a training camp contract, according to Keith Smith of Sportac.
Scott, 24, is 6-foot-8 and went undrafted out of Cincinnati in 2020.
He initially signed with Puerto Rican club Leones de Ponce, then joined the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz’s affiliate. He averaged 10.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 15 G League games.
After the season, Scott joined Cleveland’s summer league squad.
He was named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year with the Bearcats in 2020, as well as a member of the All-AAC first team.
Scott will have an uphill climb to make the final roster — but if his deal is an Exhibit 10 contract, he will be eligible to earn a bonus of up to $50,000 if he joins the Cleveland Charge for at least 60 days.
