CLEVELAND — Don’t worry, Donovan Mitchell and Isaac Okoro aren’t leaving the Cavaliers for the Cleveland Charge.
But they were assigned to the G League club on Wednesday for the sake of injury rehab and perhaps a little conditioning.
Mitchell has missed the past three games with an injured hamstring, suffered in a win at Portland last week. He also missed Wednesday’s home game vs. the Heat, making it four in a row.
Meanwhile, Okoro has now missed eight consecutive games with a knee issue.
The fact both were assigned to the Charge makes it easy to believe that they are making progress and possibly nearing a return to the Cavs.
Cleveland (8-6) entered Wednesday night as the winner of four straight, including three in a row without Mitchell, who leads the team in scoring at 29.2 points in 10 games.
