The Cavaliers, Bulls and Raptors were all said to be active ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.
Well, aside from the Raptors trading for former Spurs center Jakob Poeltl late Wednesday, not one made a move.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, all three teams may have seen an increased opportunity in the Eastern Conference after the Nets traded Kevin Durant (Suns) and Kyrie Irving (Mavericks) to the West.
The Raptors were said to have guard Fred VanVleet, guard/forward Gary Trent Jr. and forward OG Anunoby available — but not one was moved.
Meanwhile, the Cavs discussed trades involving guard/forwards Caris LeVert and Cedi Osman sources told Hoops Wire. But they informed LeVert about two hours before the deadline that he was staying put. They stayed true to their word.
Finally, the Bulls were discussing guard Zach LaVine with the Knicks, largely because New York was making offers, but again, no deal was reached.
