Cavaliers second-round draft pick Luke Travers will return to the Perth Wildcats of the Australian league for next season, the team confirmed.
“Luke is contracted to us. He’s coming back. That’s done,” Wildcats GM Danny Mills told The West Australian.
Travers, 20, is a 6-foot-7 guard/forward who definitely had his moments for the Cavs at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. He was selected with the No. 56 overall pick in June.
“The whole reason they drafted him was to stash him and to keep him here,” Mills said. “Luke Travers will be at the Wildcats next season.
“He looked very confident (at Summer League) and the most exciting thing for us is over the last three months, the experience and development and exposure that he’s got to a different world of basketball, he can now bring back to Perth. We’re really excited.”
