The Cavaliers are picking up the third-year contract option of power forward Evan Mobley and fourth-year option on guard/forward Isaac Okoro, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
Neither decision is considered a surprise, given that both players were lottery picks and considered key parts of the team’s future.
Mobley, 21, is 7-foot-0 and was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in 2021. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting last season, appearing in 69 games and averaging 15.0 points and 8.3 rebounds.
Okoro, 21, is 6-5 and was selected by the No. 5 overall pick in 2020. He is currently in the running for the Cavs’ starting small forward spot, averaging 8.8 points and 3.0 boards in 67 games last season.
The Cavs open the season Wednesday with a visit to the Raptors.
