The Cavaliers have officially signed forward Isaiah Mobley and rookie point guard Craig Porter Jr. to two-way contracts, per the NBA transactions log (via Hoops Rumors).
Mobley, 23, is 6-foot-10 and spent last season on a two-way contract after the Cavs selected him out of USC with the No. 49 overall pick in 2022. He spent the majority of his time with the G League’s Cleveland Charge, appearing in just 12 games with the Cavs for a total of 84 NBA minutes.
With the Charge, he averaged 21.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists, shooting 52 percent from the field. The older brother of forward Evan Mobley, Isaiah could get more of an opportunity this season.
Porter is 6-2 and went undrafted out of Wichita State after averaging 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists last season. He worked out for nine teams leading up to the draft.
Both Mobley and Porter are suiting up for the Cavs for the Las Vegas Summer League, which runs July 7-17.
The NBA’s new rules allow teams to carry three two-way players this season, so the Cavs still have a spot available. Rookie second-round pick Emoni Bates could be a candidate should he fail to land a spot on the standard roster.
All two-way players are eligible to appear in up to 50 NBA games while spending the rest of their time in the G League.
