The Cavaliers have signed center Moses Brown to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.
Brown, 22, is 7-foot-2 and was brought in to offer depth at the position, with the return of Jarrett Allen (finger) still to be determined. Adding Brown gives you the sense that Allen will be out for a bit after fracturing the finger on his non-shooting hand earlier this week.
Brown has 78 games of NBA experience, spending time with the Trail Blazers, Thunder and most recently Mavericks over three seasons. He has also played in the G League, and played well, averaging 18.5 points and 13.9 rebounds last season on his way to first-team all-G League honors.

In the NBA, he has shown a penchant for rebounding and blocking or altering shots, though he is limited offensively.
He played 26 games for the Mavs this season, but was waived in February to clear a roster spot after Dallas acquired Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans from the Wizards (for Kristaps Porzingis). Brown averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds with the Mavs, starting one game.
“Brown has shown to be a strong rebounder, but possesses very limited ball skills and is often slow to rotate defensively,” wrote Rory Maher of Hoops Rumors. “He’s definitely a raw, unfinished product at this stage of his career, but he’s flashed some upside and could develop with time.”
The Cavs (38-27) currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and visit the Heat on Friday night for the first game of a road back-to-back. They play the Bulls on Saturday.
