The Cavaliers, Pistons, Rockets, Pacers, Timberwolves and Trail Blazers are among the teams that remain engaged with the 76ers about a potential Ben Simmons trade, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Along with the aforementioned teams, the Kings, Spurs and Raptors are also exploring potential deals centered on the All-Star guard/forward, Fischer reported. Simmons reportedly would welcome a trade.
While the 76ers have been active in exploring Simmons deals, chief of basketball operations Daryl Morey is currently seeking the type of player who would help the team stay on its course as a contender.
An earlier report suggested the Celtics have also been in talks with the 76ers about Simmons, but was shot down by a source who spoke to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.
But as usual with trade rumors, there will be reports and denials, with the truth likely only to be revealed sometime between now and the February trade deadline.
The belief around the NBA is that Morey may find a deal more to his liking around Dec. 15, when players who signed offseason deals become eligible to be traded.
Simmons has yet to play a game after arriving to camp late and reportedly telling Morey he is not yet mentally ready to take the court.
Meanwhile, sources have told Hoops Wire they suspect any trade centered on Simmons will involve multiple teams and players, as opposed to being just a straight-up deal.
