The Cavaliers have renounced their free-agent exception rights to two-way point guard Jeremiah Martin, per NBA’s official transactions log and RealGM.
Martin’s rights were renounced as part of the sign-and-trade for forward Lauri Markkanen, a deal that sent popular forward Larry Nance Jr. to the Trail Blazers.
Martin signed a two-way deal on April 28, after the Cavs promoted forward Lamar Stevens to the 15-man roster.
Martin, 23, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in nine games, averaging 2.4 points in 8.3 minutes. He spent nine games with the Nets in 2019-20, averaging 7.1 points.
He has played in the G League with the Long Island Nets and others, and was with the Hawks and Knicks during the 2021 summer league. He now becomes an unrestricted free agent.
