Cavaliers sideline reporter Angel Gray is leaving Bally Sports Ohio for a position with ESPN, Gray announced in a heartfelt post on social media.
“Dear Cleveland, for someone who speaks for a living, this a tough thought to try to put into words,” Gray wrote. “Here’s me ripping off the bandaid: I was offered a full-time opportunity with ESPN that I could not refuse.
“The timing of it all gave me pause, but after long conversations with family, friends and colleagues, taking this leap of faith now was a no brainer. So my time has come to an end in Cleveland, and this is more overwhelming than I could’ve imagined.”

Gray was hired to replace Allie Clifton as sideline reporter for Cavs broadcasts in October 2018. Clifton is now the studio host for Spectrum SportsNet broadcast of Lakers telecasts.
Bally Sports Ohio has not announced a replacement for Gray, a favorite of fans, her colleagues and the athletes and coaches.
The Cavs (7-5) host the Pistons on Friday.
