LSU forward Tari Eason is hitting the NBA pre-draft workout circuit, and he said that includes a stop with the Cavaliers.
Eason is 6-foot-8 and averaged 16.9 points and 6.6 rebounds this past season, his first with the Tigers. He attended Cincinnati the year before that, so he has played two years of college basketball overall.
The Cavs own the No. 14 pick and Eason is projected by most respected mocks to fall within that range. As we relayed previously, the Cavs are also scheduled to bring in Ohio State shooting guard Malaki Branham, another possible lottery selection.
Along with the Cavs, Eason said he has either worked out or will work out for the Grizzlies, Spurs, Bulls, Timberwolves, Hornets, Hawks, Knicks and Wizards, via Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Basically, most anyone projected to go in the late-lottery range, or after, will wisely take every workout they can get. Clearly, Eason fits that description.
He was named first-team All-SEC, as well as SEC Sixth Man of the Year, this past season.
The NBA Draft is scheduled for Thursday, June 23. You can check out all of our coverage right here.
