Cavs Won’t Extend Qualifying Offer To Moses Brown

The Cavaliers are not planning to tender a qualifying offer to backup center Moses Brown, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Brown, 21, is 6-foot-11 and a was a late-season addition for the Cavs, proving to be a serviceable backup (and occasional starter) for Jarrett Allen.

Brown will now be an unrestricted free agent and is likely to receive multiple offers. A return to the Cavs is not out of the question, though viewed around the NBA as unlikely.

He averaged 6.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 14 appearances with Cleveland.

Brown first signed a 10-day contract in March, followed by a second 10-day, before signing a standard contract in early April.

  1. Sorry to see that. He showed some really motivational action for his experience level. Really ran the floor when the Cavs needed spark at that position. But I suppose there’s some greater plan in the works. Hope so.
