The Celtics have agreed to a training camp contract with veteran forward Bruno Caboclo, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Caboclo, 26, is 6-foot-9 and last played in the NBA during the 2020-21 season, when he appeared in six games with the Rockets. He has also spent time with the Grizzlies, Raptors and Kings.
Overall, the No. 20 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft has appeared in 105 games and carries averages of 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds. Per Charania, Caboclo will compete for a roster spot with the Celtics.
He spent last season playing professionally in his native Brazil with Sao Paolo FC, leading the club to the BCL Americas title and earning MVP honors. He then played for the Jazz’s summer team in Las Vegas in July.
The Celtics certainly have some open spots, as they currently have just 14 players under contract, and that includes the two two-way deals.
