Celtics guard Derrick White will miss Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Heat for personal reasons, the team announced.
While the Celtics didn’t offer a specific reason, White and his wife are expecting a baby, per Keith Smith of Spotrac.
White was acquired from the Spurs at the February trade deadline and has played a strong role in the Celtics’ second-half surge. He struggled in the Game 1 loss to Miami, though, scoring just three points.
Minus White, the Celtics will be relying on Marcus Smart, Payton Pritchard and others to pick it up a little.
The Celtics, of course, will also be without center Al Horford, who remains in health protocols.
