Witnesses told Las Vegas police that the father of Celtics star Jaylen Brown swung a knife “25 times” during an altercation that led to his arrest on attempted murder charges.

Quenton M. Brown, who goes by Marselles, was taken into custody Thursday morning and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

The incident occurred the night before at a Las Vegas park, where police said a dispute over a “door ding” escalated into violence, 3 News reported.

According to the police report, the conflict began when the passenger-side door of an SUV struck another vehicle. A man and woman from the second car stepped out to inspect the damage.

The woman told police that the SUV passenger — later identified as Brown — became confrontational, dismissing the incident and insulting her boyfriend.

When the boyfriend slapped the SUV’s mirror, the woman said Brown walked toward him, produced an object from his side and “swung his arm in a straight stabbing motion.”

She said the blow struck her boyfriend in the back. Another witness told police Brown had swung the knife “25 times.”

Bail for Brown was set at $300,000, and court records show he would be required to wear an ankle monitor if released.

Brown, 53, is the father of Jaylen Brown, a four-time All-Star and the 2024 NBA Finals MVP. He is also a former professional boxer who posted a 33-18-1 record during his career.

The victim’s condition has not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
