The Celtics are thinking long term, even while stacking wins.
Boston is focused on internal improvement and integrating trade-deadline addition Nikola Vucevic as it prepares for another postseason run.
Vucevic delivered his strongest performance yet in Friday’s blowout victory, finishing with 28 points on 9-of-13 shooting, along with 11 rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes.
“I’m still getting used to the new offense and all my teammates and learning their tendencies,” Vucevic said, via Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. “At times I think I do overthink a little bit, which makes me hesitant and takes away my aggressiveness. I feel like Friday I was able to put a little more together and play off my teammates.”
He added that finding the right balance remains the key.
“I just have to find the right balance of being aggressive, use my instincts, but make it fit with what we want to run,” he said.
Meanwhile, despite some rumors, Jayson Tatum will not return Sunday against the 76ers as he continues his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon.
