The Celtics are signing veteran shooting guard C.J. Miles to a 10-day contract via the hardship exemption, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Miles, 34, is 6-foot-6 and is a 15-year veteran. He currently is playing for the G League Ignite, averaging 17.4 points and 4.3 rebounds.
He last spent time in the NBA with the Wizards in 2019-20, appearing in just 10 games. A well-traveled shooting specialist, Miles has also played for the Raptors, Grizzlies, Pacers, Cavaliers and Jazz.
The Celtics (15-15) have multiple players in health and safety protocols — Sam Hauser, Juan Hernangomez, Al Horford, Jabari Parker, Josh Richardson, Brodric Thomas and Grant Williams.
Since Miles won’t count against the roster, the Celtics won’t need to make another move.
