The Celtics are waiving forward Jabari Parker, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Parker, 26, is 6-foot-8 and finished last season with the Celtics, appearing in 10 games. He played three games for the Kings before that.
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Parker’s career was derailed by two ACL injuries while with the Bucks. He has also spent time with the Kings, Hawks, Bulls and Wizards.
Parker picked up a $100,000 guarantee by remaining on Boston’s roster this week, but the remainder of his $2.28 million contract is non-guaranteed. He would have received $1.14 million if he had been able to stay with the Celtics on opening night.
Parker carries careers averages of 14.5 points and 5.6 rebounds, including 6.4 points with the Celtics last season.
