The Clippers are acquiring veteran guard Eric Gordon in a trade with the Rockets, marking Gordon’s second run in Los Angeles, as relayed by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Gordon had been hopeful of a deal before Thursday’s trade deadline, and the Clippers were one team with which he had always been linked.
The Clippers are parting ways with point guard John Wall, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line, so that will create room for Gordon and Bones Hyland, who is being acquired from the Nuggets. As reported by Charania, Wall will be headed to the Rockets, where he spent last season.
Along with everything else, the Clippers will send guard Luke Kennard to the Grizzlies presumably as part of the trade, per Charania.
The Grizzlies will be sending guard Danny Green to the Rockets as part of the trade, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. It is safe to assume that both Wall and Green will agree to contract buyouts in Houston.
