Kawhi Leonard made a little franchise history Sunday. Unfortunately for the Clippers, the night ended on a concerning note.

Leonard scored 31 points before leaving with a sprained left ankle during a loss to the Kings, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Before the injury, Leonard set a franchise mark with his 45th straight game of at least 20 points. The streak passes the previous Clippers record of 44, held by Bob McAdoo during the 1974-75 season when the team was based in Buffalo.

Leonard’s injury came with 9:27 remaining in the fourth quarter while defending DeMar DeRozan. Leonard landed awkwardly, took a few steps backward and then tumbled to the floor.

He quickly got up but was noticeably limping as he made his way to the bench before heading to the locker room.

Leonard did not return.

There was no immediate update on whether he might miss additional time.

The loss also snapped a four-game winning streak for Los Angeles.
