The Clippers have waived shooting guard Jay Scrubb, the team announced in a press release.
Scrubb, 21, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 18 games last season, and four games the year before that as a rookie. He was originally drafted by the Nets in the second round (No. 55 overall) of the 2020 NBA Draft.
Scrubb was then traded to the Clippers as part of a three-team deal in November 2020, then promptly signed a two-way contract. He signed an Exhibit 10 deal with LA earlier this month.
If he’s not claimed off waivers or signed as an unrestricted free agent (after clearing waivers), there seems to be a good chance he will end up with the Ontario Clippers, LA’s affiliate in the G League.
