Clippers forward Paul George is progressing but unlikely to return from a sprained right knee injury for the first-round series vs. the Suns, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT.
Last week, Coach Tyronn Lue made it sound like George could be out for a while.
“We’re definitely not gonna do anything to hurt PG even if he does try to come back,” Lue told reporters. “If he’s not right, then we’re not gonna let him injure himself and make it worse than what it really is.”

George suffered the injury in late March when he went up for a rebound against Thunder wing Luguentz Dort, landed awkwardly, then fell to the floor with 4:38 remaining in the game. He needed assistance getting to the locker room.
George, 32, is averaging 23.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists, shooting 46 percent from the field and 38 percent on 3-pointers in 55 games.
