The Wizards will be represented on stage by coach Wes Unseld Jr. for the 2023 NBA Draft lottery, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Unseld and the Wizards finished 35-47 this past season, giving them a 6.7 percent chance to win what is being viewed as the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes. Wembanyama is a 7-foot-4 French center who is considered a franchise player and perhaps the most-talented player to enter the draft since LeBron James.
So yes, Unseld and Washington could use a player like that.
The Wizards have a 7.0 chance to finish second in the lottery, a 7.4 chance to finish third, and a 7.8 percent chance to place fourth. They lost a tiebreaker with the Pacers back in April.
Washington is currently is in the process of hiring a head of basketball operations after firing former GM Tommy Sheppard after the season.

Another lottery stage representative for Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery show: Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. will be on the dais for Washington.
