Jazz guard Collin Sexton will miss his return game to Cleveland, and starting forward Kelly Olynyk is also out, per the NBA official injury report.
Sexton has missed the last five games with a hamstring issue. Olynyk, who is having a career season, will miss the game with an ankle injury.
The Jazz have been one of the league’s more surprising teams, playing at least .500 basketball despite trading away four starters — including Cavs All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell.
This marks the first game for Mitchell against his former team.
The same goes for Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen, who was part of the deal and is having an All-Star-type season of his own.
In his last 10 games, Markkanen is averaging 24.0 points and 8.1 rebounds, while shooting 55 percent overall, as well as 55 percent on 3-pointers. He is also at 90 percent on free throws.
Sexton is averaging 13.4 points in his first season with Utah, including 18.4 points on 55 percent shooting in his last five.
Olynyk is averaging 12.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and shooting 53 percent from the floor.
Meanwhile, Cavs starting forward Lamar Stevens will miss his second straight game with knee soreness.
