Darius Garland made his debut for the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, finishing with 12 points in a 114-101 loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Garland came off the bench, played 23 minutes and went 4-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-7 from three-point range. He also committed five turnovers.

It marked his first game since Jan. 14. Garland had been sidelined by lingering toe issues — left toe injury management and a right great toe sprain — before being traded by the Cavaliers to Los Angeles on Feb. 4 in the deal that brought James Harden to Cleveland.

The toe trouble dates back to last postseason, when Garland missed four playoff games, including two second-round home losses to Indiana.

The two-time All-Star is averaging 18.0 points and 6.9 assists this season and remains under contract through 2027-28.

The Clippers, now 27-32, view the 26-year-old as part of their longer-term vision.

Monday was step one.
