Free agent shooting guard Denzel Valentine has agreed to a contract with the Maine Celtics of the G League, according to Jay King of The Athletic.
Valentine, 28, is 6-foot-4 and is coming off a 10-day contract with the Jazz, appearing in two games. He played 22 games with the Cavaliers earlier this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds.
He was acquired by the Knicks earlier this month as part of a three-way trade that sent Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo to Cleveland. Valentine was waived by New York shortly thereafter.
He was named AP Player of the Year as a senior at Michigan State in 2016, and was then selected by the Bulls with the No. 14 overall pick in the NBA draft that followed.
He averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in four seasons with Chicago, appearing in 232 regular-season games overall.
