Mavericks small forward Dorian Finney-Smith has agreed to a four-year, $55.5 million contract extension, agents Michael Tellem and Jeff Schwartz told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Finney-Smith, 28, is 6-foot-7 and can man both forward positions. He is averaging 10.6 points and 4.9 in 55 games (through Thursday).
Undrafted out of Florida in 2016, Finney-Smith has spent his entire career with the Mavericks, proving to be an underrated fit and winning player. His new contract extension includes a player option and a trade kicker, Wojnarowski reported.
“Earning just $4MM this season, Finney-Smith has been a bargain for the Mavs, but he was on track for unrestricted free agency this summer,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
