Free agent forward Draymond Green is expected to head back to the Warriors — to no one’s surprise.
Per Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Green and the Warriors are likely to reach a deal on a four-year contract worth about $100 million.
Agent Rich Paul confirmed the move, via Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Green was always expected to return to Golden State, hinting that would be the case at the end of the season.
“I want to be a Warrior for the rest of my life,” Green said recently, via Mark Medina of Sportsnaut. “I want to ride out with the same dudes I rode in with. We put the work in to make that happen. … But there’s a bunch of things to take into account.”
The Warriors are also adding point guard Chris Paul in a trade with the Wizards that will send guard Jordan Poole to Washington.
All signs have pointed to a new Draymond Green deal in Golden State since my enclosed story Monday and league sources now project Green to land a contract in the four-year, $100 million range from the Warriors once free agency commences.
