76ers
- Small forward Kelly Oubre will move into the starting lineup for the time being, coach Nick Nurse told reporters, via Kyle Neubeck of PHLY Sports.
- Oubre will be replacing P.J. Tucker, who was traded to the Clippers as part of the James Harden deal.
- Nurse said the starting small forward spot is “TBD in the future,” Neubeck added. The Sixers acquired Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum and K.J. Martin (and multiple draft picks) from the Clippers.
- The Sixers created an $11 million trade exception by making the trade, per Bobby Marks of ESPN.
Heat
Forward Bam Adebayo said the Heat are still seeking answers after a 1-3 start.
“We’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff at the beginning of the season,” he said, via Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “You go through those types of things. The biggest thing for us is looking for solutions.”
- Forwards Jimmy Butler and Haywood Highsmith are probable for the Heat’s game against the Nets, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
Cavaliers
Star guard Donovan Mitchell said the goal for the Cavs can’t be to just beat the Knicks, an opponent that everyone in Cleveland now considers a rival.
“As much as we continue to harp on it, what happened last season happened last season, neither one of us won the championship, so we got to find a way to win enough games to get to the playoffs, win in the playoffs and get to a championship,” Mitchell said. “That’s the ultimate goal.”
- I have more on Mitchell’s comments in my pregame dribbles, which you can read right here.
- Also, there’s plenty more on the Cavs in my postgame dribbles and all the time on our Cavs Page.
