Bulls
If the Bulls are hopeful of moving guard Zach LaVine before next week’s trade deadline (they are), it may require additional assets, per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago.
“There’s a growing feeling among rival executives that the Bulls may have to attach another asset to move LaVine, something sources said the Bulls have been hesitant to do to this point,” Johnson wrote. “An alternative could be to merely move LaVine as a salary dump for expiring contracts, although NBC Sports Chicago has previously reported that the Bulls weren’t at that stage yet. Plus, of course, it would take another team willing to do that.”
- LaVine’s foot injury is expected to keep him out past the deadline. Coach Billy Donovan didn’t want to speculate if LaVine would still be on the team for the rest of the season. “I have no idea. I really don’t,” Donovan said, per Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times. “There’s been nothing that I’ve had communicated as it leads into this trade deadline where it’s been, ‘Hey, he’s staying here’ [or] ‘We’re moving him.’ There’s been nothing like that.”
76ers
The Sixers are willing to part ways with a first-round draft pick as part of a trade for Bulls guard/forward DeMar DeRozan, per Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.
“Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers do not want to give up a first-round pick ahead of the trade deadline, but would be willing to do so for a player like DeMar DeRozan if the Chicago Bulls were willing to deal the star,” Siegel wrote.
- We have more out of Philadelphia, including the scoring eruption from guard Tyrese Maxey on Thursday, right here.
Bucks
- The Bucks are among the teams expressing trade interest in Nets forwards Dorian Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
- Milwaukee has also been keeping a close eye on Hawks guard/forward De’Andre Hunter ahead of the deadline, sources told Hoops Wire.
