Rookie forward/center Evan Mobley became the fastest member of the Cavaliers to reach 200 points and 100 rebounds on the season, per the team and relayed by Alex Kennedy of Basketball News.
Mobley, is 7-foot-0, and hit the milestones in Saturday’s win over the Celtics, finishing with 19 points and nine boards. The No. 3 overall pick, Mobley has also proven to be a difference-maker defensively for the surprising Cavs (9-5).
“You’re watching him learn on the fly, and not only learn, but apply,” coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “I think that’s the thing that’s unique is, in a one or two-game span, he can apply the things that he’s learned. A lot of times, it takes guys years to figure it out.”
Rewriting the record books… again.
