Former Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson attended practice in Independence, Ohio, on Thursday and will return to organization with the Cleveland Charge, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
Gibson will be working with new Charge coach Mike Gerrity, a former Cavs assistant.
Gibson, 36, was affectionately known as “Booby” during his playing days in Cleveland, was originally a second-round pick, drafted No. 42 overall. He spent his entire playing career with the Cavs (2006-13), playing a big role in their first run to the Finals, back in 2007, alongside LeBron James.
The Charge open the season vs. the Motor City Cruise at Cleveland State’s Wolstein Center on Nov. 4.
Former #Cavs sharpshooter Daniel Gibson was at practice today chatting with the coaches. He is going to be working with the Cleveland Charge — the team's G League affiliate.
