Former Washington Wizards star point guard John Wall has announced his retirement from pro basketball, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Wall, 34, was selected by the Wizards with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft and spent nine years with the franchise, before two years with the Houston Rockets and a year with the Los Angeles Clippers. He has not played since the 2022-23 season.
During one of those seasons with the Rockets, Wall sat out as the team sought (and did not find) a trade.
He played in 647 NBA games overall, finishing his career with 18.7 points, 8.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds, shooting 43 percent from the field (32 percent on 3-pointers).
Wall is represented by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.
