Free agent guard Matt Mooney has signed with Spanish club Unicaja, as relayed by Fersu Yahyabeyoglu of Eurobasket.
Mooney, 24, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in one game with the Knicks this season. He also played four games for the Cavaliers in 2019-20.
Along with that, he has extensive experience in the G League and once played for the Jazz in summer league.
He most recently spent time with the G League’s Mexico City Capitanes, averaging 15.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 12 appearances this season.
“After beginning the season in the G League with Capitanes de Ciudad de Mexico, Mooney earned a call-up to the NBA in late December with the Knicks, who signed him to a pair of 10-day deals while the team was shorthanded due to COVID-19-related absences,” RotoWire wrote. “Mooney appeared in only game for the Knicks before his second 10-day deal expired in early January.”
