Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant has been named the NBA’s Most Improved Player but doesn’t intend to stop there.
“Well, I’m not a finalist for you know MVP,” Morant told reporters. “That’s definitely on my list.”
Along with MIP, Morant was named Rookie of the Year in 2020. The former No. 2 overall pick led this year’s Grizzlies to the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
While he was pretty good last season, he was even better this year — averaging 27.4 points, 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 57 appearances.
“I feel like in life you always want to be a better you,” Morant said. “For me, that’s on and off the floor. I took it upon myself to be better in a lot of areas on the court.”
