The Grizzlies have signed shooting guards David Johnson and Adonis Arms, according to the RealGM transactions log.
Both players spent last season in the G League and that is likely where they are headed again. Assuming they received Exhibit 10 deals with the Grizzlies, they will be eligible for a $75,000 bonus should they remain with the affiliate Memphis Hustle for 60 days.
Johnson, 22, is 6-foot-4 and was selected with the No. 47 overall pick out of Louisville in the 2021 NBA Draft. He originally spent time with Raptors 905, before his player rights were traded to the Hustle this past August.
Arms, 22, is 6-6 and went undrafted out of Texas Tech in 2022. He started playing for the Nuggets’ Summer League squad that July, then signed with the Suns for the preseason. He ended up playing for the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets G League affiliate.
The Gold traded Arms to the Hustle in February. He spent this past offseason playing for the Nets’ summer team.
To make room for Johnson and Arms, the Grizzlies waived guard Jason Preston and small forward Timmy Allen.
