The Grizzlies have signed center Jon Teske to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.
This marks the first time Teske is suiting up for an NBA team, though he does have plenty of G League experience, having spent the past season and a half with the Lakeland Magic.
Teske, 24, is 7-foot-1 and averaged 7.1 points and 6.7 rebounds for Lakeland in 14 games this year. He played four years at Michigan after a stellar career at Medina (Ohio) High School, but went undrafted in 2020.
He later latched on with the Magic, taking part in training camp in each of the past two seasons.
The Grizzlies currently have six players in health and safety protocol. On Wednesday, they pay their lone visit of the season to Cleveland, not far from Teske’s hometown.

Maybe after the 10-Day, Cavs could try him out, if this “in & out” stuff continues. One of a very few that could actually make the team taller, especially a homey ! I still like to see The Taco, so… I guess it’s not really necessary, since they’re more in need of a penetrating/defensive/ball handling guard. But it would be fun to see him give Markanen & Allen a couple minutes, but then again, I’m from Medina. A 7 footer for a 7 footer is NOT always equal.
