The Grizzlies say guard Ty Jerome is progressing in his recovery from the high-grade right calf strain he suffered in the preseason, but his debut is still weeks away.
Memphis announced Saturday that Jerome is expected to return in roughly six to nine weeks. Six weeks from today is January 3, so we won’t see Jerome until sometime in 2026.
Jerome is coming off a breakout year in Cleveland, where he finished as a Sixth Man of the Year finalist and averaged 12.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.5 rebounds on elite shooting splits of 51 percent from the field,43 percent from three and 87 percent at the line.
That performance earned him a three-year, $27.7 million deal from the Grizzlies, who signed him away from a Cavaliers team operating above the second apron.
He’s one of several guards sidelined for an injury-plagued roster. Ja Morant is out with a right calf strain, and Scotty Pippen Jr. has yet to appear this season after toe surgery in October.
