The Hawks are continuing to make forward John Collins available in trade talks ahead of the February deadline, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Collins, 25, has had his name mentioned in trade rumors since at least the start of the season, being linked to the Jazz, Nets, Kings, Wizards and multiple others. Recently, he was linked to the Mavericks by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The Collins update comes at the same time as a major front-office change in Atlanta, with president of basketball operations Travis Schlenk moving into an advisory role, and the keys to the roster being handed to Landry Fields. (Full post.)
As for recent talks with the Nets, it appears the Hawks have not been interested in a package that would feature Brooklyn guard/forward Joe Harris, per Charania.
Along with that, the Hawks are interested in Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma, but there is little indication that the Wizards want to part ways, Charania added.
Collins, 25, is 6-foot-9 and had been sidelined with a left ankle sprain. So far this season, Collins is averaging 12.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, shooting 49 percent from the field, in 23 appearances. He is at just a 22 percent clip on 3-pointers.
