The Hawks have opened trade discussions on power forward John Collins, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
It’s been a bit of an uneven season for Collins, and it appears as if some people within the organization wonder if he’s a fit.
Per Charania, talks involving Collins are preliminary and the Suns are among several teams that have inquired.
Collins, 25, is 6-foot-9 and averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds, shooting a career-worst 23 percent on 3-pointers. He is in the second season, five-year, $125 million contract — identified as a potential issue in a trade.
Overall, the Hawks (9-6) have been playing fairly well and in entered Friday in third place in the Eastern Conference, largely behind the play of guards Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.
