Hawks forward John Collins suffered a plantar fascia tear in his right foot as well as right ring finger injury and is out indefinitely, per Shams Charania and Chris Kirchner of The Athletic.
There has been speculation that Collins could be out for the remainder of the season. That would be a major blow to the Hawks — who are battling for playoff positioning one season after advancing to the Eastern Conference finals.
Collins, 24, is 6-foot-9 and has been playing through pain for the past several weeks, per reports. He is averaging 16.2 points and 7.8 rebounds in 54 appearances.
The Hawks are expected to call up rookie forward and first-round pick Jalen Johnson from the G League to help replace Collins.
