Hawks power forward John Collins will miss at least the next three games with a right foot strain, the team announced in a press release.
Collins underwent an MRI on Saturday, when the injury was revealed. “Following a period of rest, treatment and daily monitoring this week and throughout the All-Star break, his status will be updated as appropriate,” per the team.
Collins, 24, is 6-foot-9 and is averaging 16.8 points and 7.9 rebounds in 50 games. He is shooting 54 percent from the field, including 39 percent on 3-pointers.
He received a five-year, $125 million contract extension prior to the season, after helping the Hawks reach the Eastern Conference finals last season. They currently sit in 10th place in the East.
