Hawks Work Out Zaccharie Risacher, Donovan Clingan, Enrique Freeman

The Atlanta Hawks own the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft, meaning they control everything that happens. At least, they do when it comes to which prospect gets the prime position.Zaccharie Risacher, NBA Draft, Atlanta Hawks

So like everyone else, the Hawks have begun to do their homework by inviting a multitude of prospects to work out for them in recent weeks. The list includes French forward Zaccharie Risacher, UConn center Donovan Clingan and rising Akron forward Enrique Freeman, per Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype.

Risacher is heavily projected as a top-two pick, and there’s been talk that Clingan could go in the Nos. 4 or 5 range. If the Hawks want him, they could trade down, some have projected.

Meanwhile, Freeman is expected to go anywhere from the Nos. 20s to 40s. The Hawks only have one selection, but that doesn’t matter. Second-rounders or late-firsts are fairly easy to acquire. (We have a full post on Freeman here.)

It’s hard to know which direction GM Landry Fields and his team decide to go. French center Alex Sarr is also believed to be in play at No. 1. So are a multitude of trades. But hey, this is the NBA Draft — where the possibilities are truly endless. That’s especially the case when you have the top pick.

Atlanta also worked out San Francisco power forward Jonathan Mogbo, UConn shooting guard Cam Spencer, Villanova point guard Mark Armstrong, Illinois power forward Coleman Hawkins and Cleveland State small forward Tristan Enaruna, among many others.
