The Hawks have signed rookie point guard Sharife Cooper to a two-way contract, per the NBA’s transactions log (via Hoops Rumors).
Cooper was selected in the second round (No. 48 overall) out of Auburn, where he appeared in just 12 games as a freshman after being sidelined with an ankle injury.
He looked very good in that limited action, though, averaging 20.2 points, 8.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds.
His two-way deal will keep the Hawks from needing to make a coiciding a move to their 15-man roster.
Cooper can appear in up to 50 NBA games with the deal, speding the rest of his time with the G League’s College Park Skyhawks.
