The Hawks have waived center/forward Chris Silva, just several days after signing him, as the team relayed in a press release.
Silva, 27, is 6-foot-8 and is very likely headed to the College Park Skyhawks of the G League, provided no one else picks him up before the season. Signing with the Hawks allows him to earn a $75,000 bonus should he stick with their G League affiliate for 60 days.
Per Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors, Silva’s deal was indeed an Exhibit 10 contract.
So far, Silva has appeared in a total of 70 NBA games over four seasons with the Heat, Kings, Mavericks, and Timberwolves, averaging just under 3 points and 3 rebounds a game.
Atlanta now has 18 players under contract entering training camp.
