The Hawks have waived shooting guard David Singleton, the team announced.
Singleton, 23, is 6-foot-4 and signed by Atlanta one day earlier. The purpose of the move is to retain his player rights for the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s affiliate in the G League.
Singleton went undrafted out of UCLA this past summer then signed on with the Hawks for Summer League. He averaged just better than nine points and shot 42 percent on 3-pointers as a senior last season with the Bruins.
The Hawks already have 15 players on guaranteed contracts and three on two-way deals, so their opening-night roster is likely set.
Singleton will be eligible for a $75,000 bonus should he remain with College Park for 60 days. He is represented by Adam Godes.
