The Jazz have become willing listeners when it comes to offers for Donovan Mitchell and the Heat have called, per Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune.
It is not known what the Heat May have offered, but any Miami offer for Mitchell likely would have to start with reigning Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro, who has indicated he’s ready to start.
You can probably throw in Duncan Robinson and some draft picks, too.
Right now, though, nothing had met the Jazz’s expectations if they are too move Mitchell, if they do at all. As we relayed earlier, it will take a “significant” offer for Utah to even think about it.
The only difference between before and now, it seems, is the Jazz will at least listen to offers. That supposedly wasn’t the case before.
Meanwhile, the Heat’s priority seems to be landing Kevin Durant after his trade request with the Nets. But Mitchell is viewed as a good Plan B.
Speaking of the Nets, they too are reportedly interested in Mitchell, as we wrote about here. Same goes for the Knicks.
Mitchell, 25, is 6-foot-1 and has spent his entire career with the Jazz. He averaged 25.9 points, 5.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 67 games last season. Without question, the Jazz are sure to take plenty of calls and have lots of conversations during the NBA summer league in Las Vegas this week.
“Change is inevitable in the NBA,” Jazz GM Justin Zanuck said at a press conference over the weekend. “I’m not trying to be cryptic or anything else, but Donovan is on our roster and he’s a very, very important part of what we’re trying to do.
“Things evolve in the NBA, so I couldn’t sit here and say anybody is [untouchable]. We’re trying to build a championship team, but there’s no intent [to trade Mitchell], at all.”
